Governors

Hello and welcome to the governors’ section of the Frederick Gent website.  

I am Sally Bridges, Chair of the Local Governing Body (LGB) for Frederick Gent School (FGS).  

Our governing body consists of enthusiastic members from a variety of backgrounds with varied experiences, who are all dedicated to ensuring every student at Frederick Gent is given the opportunity to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.  

It is our responsibility to oversee school performance, ensure strategic direction and hold the headteacher to account. We work hard to achieve these aims by providing the challenge and scrutiny required to guarantee every one of our students receives high quality teaching, along with an excellent standard of pastoral care.   

As a governing body we are also involved in everyday school life through our link governor roles, panel attendance for recruitment and behaviour, and involvement in wider events such as parent forums and careers evenings.  

In recent years Frederick Gent has seen fantastic improvements not only in student outcomes, but also in other areas such as behaviour and attendance. As a governing body we are proud to have been a part of this, but also recognise now is not the time to become complacent, we will continue to provide the support and challenge needed to ensure our school community can build on this success.
