At Frederick Gent School, we know that reading is fundamental to a successful education as well as a crucial life skill. Our library is located upstairs in the main reception block.

The library is a bright and welcoming space open to students for book selection, reading and quiet study time before school starts and at break and lunchtimes. It is also open for homework and extra-curricular clubs from 2.55pm – 3.30pm Monday to Thursday.

There are comfy seating areas along with study tables for students to use. Desktop computers are also available for homework.

Books are ordered based on reviews of the latest releases, student recommendations and student requests.

Competitions and events are regularly run through the library throughout the year, including the very popular Freddie’s Bake Off.

The library catalogue can be accessed in school and also through the following link: https://uk.accessit.online/frd06/#!dashboard students can login to reserve books and write book reviews.

The library is run by Library Manager, Mrs Morton, who can be contacted via email
