Frederick Gent School has a new House System! The system is designed to reflect and enhance our core values of Ambitious, Brave and Caring. We will expect pupils to compete in friendly competitions with an ambitious expectation of winning for their house. Pupils will also need to show bravery by take part and sometimes not winning. Lastly, by supporting their house mates as they compete pupils will have the opportunity to demonstrate our value of being caring.

The House system will not replace the existing tutor and year groups in school, it is purely an addition to the school systems already in place.

The house system has been created in consultation with pupils, families and staff to ensure everyone has had a say and feels a connection to what has been created. Pupils came up with a range of potential house categories, parents then chose the category ‘Local Landmarks’ and staff then chose four houses named Cromford, Felley, Hardwick and Stanton.  Each house has a colour,  and a brief history which pupils have been told, this information is given below. Each house also has both pupil and staff captains.

We will build on what has been done next year with the additions of emblems.
