Year 10 Mock Interviews: Building Confidence for the Future
On March 21, 2025, our Year 10 students participated in mock interviews as part of PSHE day, providing them with a valuable opportunity to be interviewed by unfamiliar faces from the world of work. This experience was designed to help students build confidence ahead of real interviews with employers and Key Stage 4 providers in the future.
Many students felt nervous initially, but they should all be proud of their efforts. Each student now has the experience of an interview behind them, which will undoubtedly benefit them in their future endeavours.
Richard Havill, Achievement Leader, shared his thoughts on the day’s success: “All of the students should be really proud of themselves. Stepping up to interview is a really brave thing to do, and I am delighted that our Year 10 students now have this experience behind them. I would also like to thank Mrs. Smith and Miss Bates for creating this opportunity for our young people and all of the employers for giving their time and experience.”
Liz Bates, Careers Advisor, added: “The students today showed real commitment to the process today. I hope that the interview process gave them an insight into the world of work and that they are better prepared for their next step.”
Year 10 student Jess shared her experience: “It was really helpful, the process has really supported me for when I will interview for real. I definitely feel more confident.”
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the following employers for their invaluable support:
- Chesterfield College
- Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
- National Health Service (NHS)
- Eaton
- GF Tomlinson
- Derby College
- West Nottinghamshire College
