Yesterday, twenty of our Year 10 pupils visited the University of Derby for an inspiring day of exploration and future planning. Pupils researched a range of universities, comparing entry requirements and discovering the career pathways linked to different courses.

Working in groups, they presented their findings to the rest of the class before enjoying a tour of the Kedleston Road Campus.

The day ended with a brilliant Q&A session with two Student Ambassadors — one studying Zoology and the other Primary Education — who shared valuable insights into university life and future opportunities.

Tina Wakelin from Derby University said:

‘I had a really great time working with the students. They were genuinely the nicest group I have worked with this year who engaged very well throughout the programme. There was some great work when sharing what they had learnt about different universities as well. I wish them every success with their next steps’.
