Friday 10th October is World Mental Health day and we are here to listen. If you want to discuss mental health, please reach out. There are different ways you can reach out to someone in school.

There are the MyVoice forms, for students or families to access, as we know sometimes it is easier to write it down rather than talk. Students can talk to their Trusted Adult in school, or we have a number of Mental Health First Aiders in school, who you can speak to about emotional wellbeing and any support that might be required. This can be a one-off chat, or it can be on going support. Being a Mental Health First aider doesn’t mean that the person is a qualified mental health specialist, but it does mean they have the skills to listen and signpost to further support should that be needed. Please see our poster for a list of our Mental Health First Aiders at Frederick Gent School.

If families or students prefer self-help, we would like to direct you to the Young Minds Website , and the ‘mental health support’ tab. Here is a section for young people and Parents/Carers.
