Curriculum Intent
The BTEC Travel and Tourism Tech Award enables students to learn about the world through the prism of the travel and tourism industry. The course develops researching skills and the use of ICT and enables students to demonstrate the depth of their understanding mainly through controlled assessment. The aims of the course are to introduce the travel and tourism industry, develop practical knowledge and skills, and broaden understanding of progression options.
It is a Key Stage 4 qualification designed to help learners explore how organisations and destinations operate, how they meet customer needs through market research, and what influences global travel and tourism. The award also aims to develop vocational attributes and allow learners to apply their knowledge in real-life contexts.
